Created in September 2017, Frutas del Paraguay SA is the company that owns the farmland and assets (complete list in Appendix) and that’ll sell you the land and take care of the administration. Frutas del Paraguay is headquartered at the farm’s address in Santa Maria de Fe, Cerro Costa, Misiones Paraguay.

Miguel Basomba

President

Miguel is an entrepreneur and founding partner & manager of Ornacom SL. He studied in Munich, Germany, and Warsaw, Poland, and gained experience in international agricultural trade in more than 45 countries. He participates in landscaping projects in Singapore (Gardens by the Bay, Jewel Project), Vietnam (VinPearl Botanic Garden), UAE (Al Ain Wildlife Park Resort), Azerbaijan, and Qatar, among others. He’s a founding partner of Frutas del Paraguay SA and has made more than 70 trips to Paraguay since 2014.

Juan Cesar Moráez Zárate

General Manager

Juan is a forestry engineer with experience in public service (director of INFONA, National Forestry Institute) and timber industries. He completed his training in the USA, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Germany, at the hands of SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance), of which he was manager of the agricultural division.
He is a founding partner of Frutas del Paraguay SA.

Ignacio 'Nacho' Prats

Agricultural Engineer

Ignacio (AKA ‘Nacho’) is an agricultural engineer with 20 years of experience in fruit growing as a producer and technical advisor. His positions include:
• Technical Advisor for Enrique Romay SA, a leading company in producing and marketing citrus fruits and onions and a reference supplier for LIDL.
• Technical Director of MB Paraguay Green SA.
• Manager of Engineering Services and Agricultural Projects SL.
• Technical Director of the Real Acequia Escalona’s irrigation community, where water and fertilizer are administered for 2880 users.
Ignacio has made more than 60 trips to Paraguay since 2016.

Juan Andres Moráez

Farm Manager

Born in Asunción (Paraguay) in 1987, Juan has been interested in the countryside and agriculture since childhood, often accompanying his father, a Forest Engineer. In 2006, he began his studies as an Agronomist at the Catholic University of Asunción. He has been involved in different projects within the forestry and agricultural sector, where he gained experience in designing and assembling fertigation systems, managing specific machinery for fruit growing, and the latest generation greenhouse assembly. Since 2017, he has devoted himself to initially coordinating and later managing the Frutas del Paraguay project in Santa María de Fe, Misiones, where he has raised a family (he is married and the father of a son) and has become a pillar of the local community. Under the guidance of our Technical Director, Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Prats, he has become an expert in the cultivation of persimmon of the Brilliant Red variety, a crop on which he has been concentrating for the last 6 years.
