Paraguay is Ready to Ship its First Persimmons to Europe
June 29, 2023Nov 2023 Update – Farm Tour & Latest Upgrades
November 10, 2023We are thrilled to share the latest developments from our persimmon farm in Paraguay. We have been working tirelessly to enhance our operations and deliver even higher-quality produce. Our commitment to continual improvement is at the heart of everything we do, and we are excited to update you on our recent progress.
1. GLOBALG.A.P. Quality Certificate: Renewed!
2. Innovative Shade and Heat Protection
To safeguard our persimmon trees and boost fruit quality, we have initiated a project to deploy 400,000 square meters of shade mesh, initially covering the most productive areas of our farm. This mesh will reduce sun intensity, preventing sunburn effects and eliminating the risk of heat-related damage. Ultimately, this endeavor aims to increase the quantity of first-class and extra-quality fruit, ensuring a more consistent high income per hectare for our investors.
3. Enhanced Irrigation with Humidity Probes
We have installed six humidity probes across various farm sectors to optimize our irrigation practices (see photos below). These probes provide real-time data on soil humidity, enabling our engineers to fine-tune our irrigation systems for maximum efficiency. This innovation not only conserves water but also ensures that our persimmon trees receive the precise amount of hydration they need.
4. Cutting-Edge Ozone Sprayer/Atomizer
In a pioneering move for Paraguay (and probably even South America), we have invested in a state-of-the-art Ozone Sprayer/Atomizer with a 3,000-liter capacity. This technology promises to revolutionize our farming practices by reducing costs per hectare and significantly decreasing the use of pesticides, particularly fungicides. This translates to even cleaner, healthier crops. The equipment is on its way to Paraguay and is expected to arrive by the end of October.
We are committed to transparency and excellence in our operations and are grateful for your trust and support. As we progress, we look forward to sharing further updates on our continual improvements toward a higher volume of premium fruit and a more sustainable future.
